Uzdin

The first church in Uzdin was built between 1801 and 1804. Fifty years later, this church was burnt down in a fire in 1854, and the new one was built in 1856. Its iconostasis was painted by Konstantin Danilo, one of the most important painters in Vojvodina in 19th century.

Crepaja

The first church in Crepaja was built in 1776, two years after this village was settled. This church existed till 1822, when today’s church started to be built without a tower. The tower was built later in 1835 and the interior was painted by 1860. The iconostasis was painted by an academic painter, Jovan Popović.

Putnikovo

Building the church in Putnikovo started on Transfiguration on August 19th 1938 and it was finished that year in December. The church was dedicated to the Nativity of Virgin Mary which is celebrated on September 21st. The iconostasis consisting of 19 icons was painted by a Russian emigrant, Vladimir Zelinski, a painter from Big Kikinda.

Kovačica

Evangelist church

Slovak evangelist church was built and consecrated in 1828 according to the project of architects Sudaj and Kunz from Timisoara. The interior was painted between 1838 and 1839 with motifs characteristic of Slovak churches while the painting at the altar, ‘Prayer in the Gestimen Garden’, was made by a famous painter Konstantin Danil. In 1914, a bell tower was built and the organ was installed. Beside prayers, in this church there are concerts of classical music because one of the characteristics of this building is a great acoustics which is especially seen when choirs are singing.

Debeljača

Reformist church

Building this church in Debeljača lasted from 1836 till 1838. Its height is 76m and there are 1000 seats in it, hence it is the highest and biggest reformist church in former Yugoslavia. Today’s shape was formed in 1903 when a new dome was built.
Reformist community in Debeljača has been the biggest one in this region for decades.

Orthodox church

Building the Orthodox church in Debeljača started in 1934 and it was consecrated in 1935. That year, the first boy was baptized in this church, born on March 18th 1935. The interior of this church was painted with 41 icons of an unknown author.

Roman catholic church

This church has the status of county home in the South-bishop County. It was built between 1982 and 1983 and along with its bell tower built in 1960, it spreads on 95m2.
The liturgy is held in Hungarian.

Padina

Evangelist church

Slovak evangelist church is on a small hill in the town. It was built between 1939 and 1841, according to the project of architect Bartolommeo Hanek.

The interior is all in white which represents the pureness of faith. The only painting at the altar is an oil painting by Adam Poničan. It shows Christ knocking on hearts of people. Concerts of classical music are held in this church.

Idvor

Orthodox church

Today’s church was built in 1803. The iconostasis was made by a professor and artist from Belgrade, Stevan Todorović in 1879.

Beside the iconostasis, there are valuable paintings of Stefan Dečanski, St.Simeon and emperors Uroš and Lazar. There are also the four gospels from 1562 and two anthological flower MINEJ from 1643.

There are two graves beside church walls. On the northern side there is the grave of Petar Kraljev, one of the participants of May Parliament in 1848, and on the northern side there is the grave of Parson Arsenije Jović who died in 1803. The St.Patron’s Day of the church is the Annunciation of Blessed Virgin.

It is also worth mentioning that Mihajlo Idvorski Pupin, a great scientist, was baptized in this church.

Samoš

Orthodox church

The foundations of the church were made in 1840 and it was consecrated in 1847. It was built with hard material hence there were no great reconstructions till 1904.

This church was built just as all other prečanske churches with one tower, and the altitude of the floor of the church is 100m. The altar is wide and thereare: a dented iconostasis, diaconicon, upper part and proscomidion.
